[Photoset] Japan: Has It Been Six Months Already?

あけましておめでとうございます。Wow, for the past few months things have been so hectic! CIR duties aside, one of my bunnies back home died quite suddenly and very young a few weeks before Christmas, so I lost all will to keep up to date with everything. Very sad, but I must move on! I have a few articles begging to be written, including some CIR-specific experiences, but they will have to wait until I actually get some spare time…

In the meantime, I’ve finally gotten around to uploading photos from the past several months. Here they are below:

October 2010

October – A month of taiko, sports days, the henro pilgrimage and Halloween parties.

November 2010

November – A month of inter-prefectural travel, more taiko and more henro.

December 2010

December – A month of mochi making, catsitting, end of year parties and Christmas in Yusuhara.

Hope you enjoy the photos, and there’s plenty more to tell! Any day now, I’ll get the time…

Believe it or not, it was Paprika. He was so young and it happened so suddenly! He hurt his leg and eventually it was discovered (probably too late) that he had hurt his spine as well. We’re not sure how he did it, but it was probably borne of Poppyseed-inspired rage. He never stopped eating entirely but it seems that at some stage he was no longer eating enough.

Very sorry state of affairs and Greg and I are devastated. The bunnies would be the only reason why I wouldn’t recontract for another year or so. As it is, though, I’m planning to stay another year and see how the other two bunnies go. I miss them so much!

How are your guinea pigs going?

Going good. Have some new cages for them! Still don’t like each other much. When Nyx and Dumpling shared the grass cage, Nyx would break into Dumpling’s side and steal his carrot…

    Poor Paprika…
